City Access New York is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that works with young adults of all abilities throughout the five boroughs of New York City. We identify barriers to participation in schools and in the community and adapt the content and delivery of programs to the diverse needs of people with disabilities.
- Our Day Habilitation and Respite programs are Without Walls which promotes community involvement and provides a multitude of opportunities for youth development. We encourage our participants to obtain and maintain daily living skills through activities that enhance socialization, communication, and develop their vocational skills. We offer different programs which are person centered. Our trained staff is enthusiastic and always looking to build upon the already strong foundation of our programs.
- Our Career Discovery Project (CDP) provides opportunities for young adults with sensory disabilities to intern at cultural institutions in New York City. Our partners range from the Metropolitan Museum of Art to the Staten Island Children’s Museum.
- Community Habilitation program carefully pairs each participant with a mentor to ensure that the goals, set by participants and parents, are met.
- Employment programs equip individuals with the necessary tools to gain employment. Pathway to Employment is a person-centered pre-employment program that provides support services and career planning for individuals. SEMP provides job coaching for an individual to further hone their work skills.
